Isolation Skin

Whilst we may have temporarily closed our doors for all cosmetic treatments due to the Governments guidelines in response to the Covid 19 pandemic, this does not mean your skin has to suffer. Lockdown is tough enough without having your skin turn on you. If you are having masc-ne, breakouts or dry patches we are here to help!

We have appointments available with one of our Doctors on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for diagnosis and management of skin conditions and for skin cancer checks. We also continue to treat medical conditions with approved dermal therapies. If you have any questions about your skincare regime, products or skin conditions please reach out and we will happily answer any questions you may have. Products are still available for purchase via phone or email.

We have assembled some tips and tricks for maintaining your skin health whilst at home. As we continue to support our clients on their skin health journey.

Taking 5 minutes to de-stress whilst focusing on your skin can make a huge difference. This is due to cortisol being released in periods of high stress - cortisol is a vasoconstrictor and will affect how your skin looks and your immune system. It can also make your skin more sensitive and reactive and often causes acne due to the increased oil production.

How can you de-stress?

- Reduce screen time

- Stay active

- Keep connected with friends and family

- Have a routine

Your skin may become dehydrated from the cold winter air or from artificial heating. Dehydration in the skin can cause a few different problems. This may not be because the skin isnt getting enough moisture, it may mean it is having trouble holding on to it. This may be caused by:

- Barrier Impairment

- Uneven Penetration of Products

- Delayed Healing

Cleansing the skin is still an essential part of your day, even if you are working from home. Makeup wipes will not remove all of your makeup from the skin and will leave the skin clogged and congested. Make sure you continue to cleanse your skin even if you haven’t applied makeup throughout the day. This will remove the dirt that has naturally built up on your skin over the course of the day.

Don’t forget to exfoliate your skin. We love our toners for an exfoliation that isn’t harsh on the skin. It also has the benefit of enhancing the absorption of any products or serums that you apply post exfoliation and will remove any dirt that has been left behind by your cleanser.

We love the effects that skin needling has and recommend our CIT roller for at home care. It is painless and enhances the absorption of your products, pushing the products deeper into the skin and enhancing the results.

If your skin is needing an extra boost we have serums that are targeted to reduce fine lines, reduce pigmentation, brighten up your skin or treat acne. Each serum is packed with a high concentration of ingredients for deep penetration and maximum effect. These can be used in conjuction with your CIT roller.

Your face mask can make a huge difference to how you feel and how your skin looks. Our favourite is the Revival Mask by Environ which is labelled as a “facelift in a jar.” It benefits the skin by improving:

- The softness and firmness

- Hydrating and exfoliating

- Helps to stimulate growth factors.

Apply sunscreen. Even though you are not going out as much and the weather is changing, it is still an important part of your skin care regime and should be applied daily. By applying sunscreen everyday you will prevent premature aging, pigmentation and skin cancer. We love the RAD sunscreen by Environ.
